Italian glass artists
The glass manufacturer Vetreria di Borgonovo was founded in 1950 in Italy, in the province of Bergamo by three Italians. Partners Francesco Piccioni, Icilio Cantoni and Mario Marzini started the company together. It began as a small glass factory, but soon grew into a prominent player in the Italian glass industry. Soon there was a huge factory of more than 2,000 square metres where 700 workers were hard at work. In 1987, Piccioni took over the entire company. Borgonovo was known for its craftsmanship and attention to detail, which laid the foundation for the brand that is today appreciated worldwide. In the 1990s, Borgonovo was acquired by Decover, after which the factory grew from 12,000 square metres to its current 52,000 square metres.
Environmentally conscious towards the future
Today, Borgonovo's factory is still in Italy, which is unique. This means that the company has grown up and stayed where it once started. This shows something of the authenticity and drive with which the brand operates. This is ultimately seen in the quality and look of the glasses. Today, Borgonovo is fully committed to dedicating itself to the environment. Glass production is a polluting job, but Borgonovo's developments with regard to the installation of 8000 solar panels have made them climate-neutral in this regard. A combination of 'sticking to the success of the past' and innovating in a number of ways makes Borgonovo hugely successful and will continue to be so.

Borgonovo's appeal is its reliability. The glasses do not change, so the company's conservative attitude means it always delivers high-quality and beautiful glasses. Because not many products are added to their range and because they have huge runners, they stay focused on what the company has now and what developments they can still make in it.
