The French brand Duralex has existed since 1944. Having already had a factory making glasses and jars in 1927, tempered glass, for which Duralex is known, has now been made since 1944. By discovering and inventing a special method of glass production, Duralex glasses are extremely sturdy. For instance, a normal glass against a large steel ball offered no resistance and was immediately shattered, while Duralex glasses were unbreakable due to the large metal ball! The moment the ball did not break the glasses, the Duralex brand was born. Since 1945, the brand has been making glasses and everyday tableware, causing everything to gain momentum. In 1961 came another revolution. Adding dyes during the glass-blowing process gave the glass a beautiful colour. This stays on forever and cannot be removed by a dishwasher either: ideal.
The Present
Today, Duralex is committed to a more equal world between men and women and sustainability is an important aspect of their business operations.
