Ritzenhoff was founded in 1904, having emerged from another company founded by a Dutchman which specialised in glassware from 1800-1903. For more than 120 years, Ritzenhoff has played a major role in the glass industry. Every year, the company is responsible for producing more than 50 million glasses and other various products. The company has long been based in Marsberg, which is centrally located in Germany. As Germany is a large country, it is enormously convenient that Ritzenhoff is centrally located. This way, every German can be reached. Since 1965, the company has been fully automatic, which was a huge revolution in the large German company. The company has more than 400 employees, who ensure the perfect production process.
Making money sustainably
Today, Ritzenhoff is committed to striking a balance between maximum sales and corporate social responsibility. Sustainability is not only necessary but also useful for Ritzenhoff. It pays to operate in an economically, ecologically and socially responsible way. For instance, they want to improve working conditions and commit to the environment, as glass production is a polluting process. Since 1 January 2023, Ritzenhoff has only worked with sustainable and green energy, and from 2032 the company aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 63%. Ritzenhoff has obtained several certificates related to making the company more sustainable. Thus, the company has a green and realistic view of the future and remains relevant.
German solidity
Ritzenhoff's mission is clear: German thoroughness. They want to stay in control by organising the entire production process from design to delivery and from production to kitchen table. Instead of delegating many unconnected parts of the production process, Ritzenhoff very consciously decides to take care of everything themselves, thus avoiding dependence on outside developments.
